Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork
Choose this option if you’re not set on any particular modality and would like your therapist to customize your session using a combination of techniques to address your most pressing concerns and allow you to drift off into a deep state of relaxation.
Developed by Osteopathic Physician John E. Upledger, CranioSacral therapy uses gentle touch manipulation of your head, neck, and spine to release restrictions in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system, balance fascial tensions, and enhance vitality in numerous ways.
Also referred to by physical therapists as Organ-Specific Fascial Mobilization, Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual therapy, based on osteopathic principles, which is used to release underlying restrictions and compensations causing pain and dysfunction. The practitioner assesses and treats altered or decreased motion of the organs, while addressing broad injury patterns throughout the body.
Reflexology has been used for centuries as an integrative medicine technique to reduce pain and improve organ and nervous system function. Specific pressure on different points on the feet, hands, and head sends a reflex response via the corresponding energy channel on the body.
Eastern Herbal Experience
Herbal compresses have long been used by Asian cultures as a complement to therapeutic bodywork. The medicated heat seeps through skin pores, delivering analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects, dilating blood vessels, and boosting the vitality of internal organs. During your massage, your therapist will roll, press, stamp, and slide steamed bundles of medicinal blends along the body. Give your nervous system a treat as you savor the exotic herb-infused vapors.
Warm Himalayan Salt Stone Massage
Using smooth, warm stones as an extension of her hands, the therapist works in long strokes across sore muscles to provide a uniquely grounding experience. The naturally occurring minerals present in the pink salt crystals add anti-inflammatory, exfoliating, detoxing and ion-balancing effects.
Deep Tissue Massage
Designed to address specific areas of tension, deep tissue and myofascial release techniques are used to relieve both muscles and connective tissue below the surface. It helps to improve range of motion and heal injuries that restrict normal patterns of posture and movement. Favored by athletes, deep tissue and Ashiatsu massage use the greatest amount of pressure among all modalities.
Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage
Ashiatsu is performed by the feet, using overhead bars for balance. Offering the firmest pressure of all modalities, it is recommended for those who seek deep tissue work, trigger point release, and stretching of long bands of tissue. The therapist applies slow, gliding strokes and compression along the spine, legs, hips, shoulders, and arms.
Prenatal massage addresses the particular needs of expecting women through a relaxing, custom approach. Adaptations are made in regards to pressure, technique, body positioning, and supportive bolstering.
Thai massage, nicknamed “lazy man’s yoga” uses ancient stretching, kneading, and palm press techniques to leave you feeling loose and limber. It is especially appealing for people who prefer an efficient, fully clothed massage that can enhance athletic performance through improved range of motion.
*Upgrade* Add in a soothing hand and foot treatment during your session. First, the therapist uses textured gloves to remove dry, flaky skin from problem areas on the upper and lower limbs. Smooth, sweeping strokes also invigorate the extremities and promote lymphatic flow and venous return towards the heart. Following the exfoliation process, a thick layer of rich shea butter is applied and sealed in with essential oils and warm towels. A great complement to reflexology or massage.
Green Leaf Relief
*Upgrade* Elevate your massage with the healing potential of CBD. Throughout your session, a high-quality organic oil blend is worked into sore muscles, aiding in the reduction of inflammation, oxidative stress, pain, anxiety & more. Savasana Siesta Extension
*Add-on* Do you tend to crave more transition time at the end of your session? Pre-program the snooze button with a pre-booked catnap. Your therapist will leave you in peace with a combination of calm music, aromatherapy, eye pillow, warm neck roll, and gravity blanket so you can ride out the relaxation a little longer. After 15 minutes your therapist will gently wake you with some light energy work and an optional cup of herbal tea or shot of espresso. Ideal for travelers and those experiencing emotional release.
