Frequently Asked Questions
What is bodywork?
Bodywork is a term in alternative medicine that encompasses numerous forms of specialized manual techniques and energy therapies that may use manipulation, movement, and/or repatterning to prompt structural changes to the body.
Is there parking available nearby?
Yes. There is free parking all along 8th Avenue, where the entrance to ViaSana is located. You can also park right on Main Street and walk to the back of the building (2nd floor) from there. Do not enter through the front (Main Street side) of the building. There is no access to the studio through that level.
Is your facility handicapped accessible?
Should I arrive early to fill out paperwork?
No. Due to COVID precautions you are asked to complete an online intake form prior to your arrival. You should receive a link from MassageBook via email upon confirmation of your appointment. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not see it in your inbox. You should be able to view upcoming appointment details by logging into the Massagebook.com website with your email address and chosen password.
Do you offer couples’ massage?
No. At this time, ViaSana is owned and operated by a sole practitioner, focusing on delivering a very custom experience. You are more than welcome to book back-to-back appointments. There are plenty of pleasant ways to pass the time while your friend/partner/spouse/family member/bridesmaid, etc. receives treatment. Downstairs from ViaSana are other alternative medicine practices, and the next door over on our level houses an upscale hair and nail salon. If you walk up the hill past the end of our street, you’ll arrive at a beautiful waterfall. Or stroll just a couple blocks north along the highway and you’ll be at Fellin Park and the Ouray Hot Springs Pool. Heading the opposite direction you can wander in and out of the charming shops and restaurants along Main Street.
Do you have experience working with pregnant women, cancer patients, amputees, elderly, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, pelvic disorders, digestive issues?
Yes. All are welcome. While I do not claim to be a certified specialist in any of the aforementioned areas, I am very comfortable working with a wide range of clientele and areas of concern. If you have any questions about what adaptations I can offer for your circumstances, do not hesitate to contact me prior to your visit.
Can I change the type of session after I book it?
Absolutely. I want you to receive the best care possible for your particular concerns. Most upgrades and modalities can be added or swapped at the last minute. I will also do my best to accommodate last-minute adjustments to the length of the session as requested.
What should I wear to my session?
If you are receiving only CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Reflexology, or Thai Massage, please wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing, as most of the work will be performed working through or around the garments you are wearing. For all other modalities, since cream or oil is applied to the body to work long bands of tissue, you will undress to underwear and cover yourself between sheets and a towel or blanket while your therapist waits outside the room until you are ready. Professional draping techniques are used, ensuring your modesty and my adherence to strict professional standards.
How do I pay for the session?
Payment is handled directly after the session. You are welcome to pay by credit or debit card, cash, or check.
